Case Study: Color-Matched Premium Glass Jar for a Hair Growth Supplement

Summary: Paramount partnered with a leading hair growth supplement brand, owned by one of the largest global consumer personal care companies, to create premium supplement packaging for its new capsule-based hair supplement. The elevated glass jar features a sprayed, multi-color silk screen decoration and a smooth plastic cap matched to the glass. The result: a seamless color match across materials and production runs.

The challenge: making glass and plastic look like one material

The hardest part of this project was getting two different substrates to read as a single, cohesive color.

Three factors made the match difficult:

  • Substrate behavior: Sprayed coatings and silk screen inks sit and cure differently on glass than color does in a molded plastic cap.
  • Light refraction: Glass bends and reflects light in ways plastic does not, which shifts how saturation and opacity appear to the eye.
  • Surface texture: The decorated glass and the smooth cap have different finishes, so even identical color values can look mismatched side by side.

The solution: iterative testing and tight process control

We solved the match through close collaboration with the brand and our decorating and molding partners.

  1. Define the color target. We aligned with the brand on the exact color standard.
  2. Test and refine iteratively. We ran repeated decoration and molding trials.
  3. Evaluate side by side. Decorated jars and caps were reviewed together under consistent lighting to confirm a true visual match.
  4. Lock in process controls. Once approved, we standardized the process so color saturation, opacity, and finish stayed consistent run after run.

The results: a premium package that stands apart on shelf

  • Seamless look across materials: Glass and plastic read as a single, unified design.
  • Consistency at scale: Color, opacity, and finish hold across multiple production runs.
  • Stronger brand identity: The package reinforces the brand’s premium, feminine positioning.
  • Better consumer experience: An elevated daily ritual product that still works for everyday use.
