Paramount Global Wins Gold at 2025 NACD Packaging Awards for Innovative Lawn Repair Kit Design
We’re thrilled to announce that Paramount Global was awarded Gold in the Automotive, Chemical, and General Industrial Category at the 2025 NACD Packaging Awards for our work on the Mountain View Seeds (MVS) Lawn Repair Kit!
This recognition highlights our team’s continued commitment to delivering packaging solutions that combine functionality, innovation, and user-focused design—this time, for a product as hardworking as the lawn care customers it serves.
Smart, User-Friendly Packaging for Lawn Enthusiasts
The award-winning package is a durable, flexible plastic bag with an integrated pour spout and handle, designed for easy, controlled dispensing of lawn seed products. Its ergonomic design provides convenience for both professional landscapers and homeowners, making the application process cleaner, faster, and more efficient.
Beyond usability, the packaging delivers on strength and protection, critical for agricultural products exposed to variable storage and handling conditions.
Collaboration with a Trusted Name in Seed Innovation
Mountain View Seeds (MVS), based in Oregon’s fertile Willamette Valley, is known for its premium turfgrass varieties and deep roots in seed innovation. Originally launched in 1998 to support growing demand from Pratum Co-Op’s private seed production, MVS has become a recognized leader in the lawn care and sports turf industries. With a state-of-the-art processing facility capable of handling over 650,000 pounds of seed per day, they required packaging that could keep up.
That’s where Paramount Global came in.
Designed by Industry Expertise
The MVS Lawn Repair Kit package was developed by Joe Simich, our Global Key Account Manager, who worked closely with the MVS team to understand their needs and translate them into a high-performance, customer-friendly format.
MVS was looking for an alternative to traditional rigid plastic containers, something more convenient and user-friendly for consumers. Joe recommended a flexible bag with a gusseted bottom and an integrated handle. This solution made lawn care tasks easier for end users and also enhanced performance during filling and distribution.
The gusseted bottom allowed the bag to stand upright, improving compatibility with MVS’s filling equipment and offering better control throughout the filling cycle. The team tested several prototypes to refine the handle placement and balance the seed weight for more comfortable carrying and pouring. After launching the product, MVS received overwhelmingly positive consumer feedback, especially about the package’s ease of handling and controlled disbursement.
This marks Paramount Global’s fifth NACD Packaging Award. Over the years, we’ve been honored for a range of standout projects, including Project Sunscreen (which earned two awards in 2020), Replace SR’s Best Use of Stock Packaging in 2021, and Jimmy Coco’s Tanning Package in 2023. Each of these wins showcases our team’s ongoing commitment to tackling complex packaging challenges through creativity, collaboration, and craftsmanship.
Our packaging innovation team reached a new milestone by earning Gold at the 2025 NACD Packaging Awards. We’re proud of everyone’s hard work and truly honored to receive this recognition!
More Than a Package, It’s a Partnership
